PhD in Naval Architecture, with a doctoral dissertation on trimaran hulls, he has worked for 5 years on research applied to multihulls using numerical and exprimental methods. He gained significant experience in structural design and naval architecture, collaborating with universities and research istitutions; for 3 years he has been Project Manager for Atlantis SpA, a brand of the AzimutBenetti group, dealing with large areas of project management. Numerous his technical pubblications in national and international conferences, most notably the one in collaboration with Michael Peters Yacht Design, Research and Development division of the AzimutBenetti and the Experimental Tank Institute in St. Petersburg (KRISO), concerning the performance of very fast stepped hulls. Among the collaborations should be reported as current, ongoing with Montecarlo Yachts (hull design, structural design, project management), Prestige Yachts (structural design, project management), and as Deputy Technical Director of the Istituto Giordano. He is partner of LadyHawke Catamarani srl, an italian company active in the design and production of work (www.catmarine.it) and pleasure (www.lhcat.com) catamarans. He owns and manages Micad.
Since the academic year 2017-2018 he has become contract professor at the University of Trieste for the course of “Fast Hulls”.

Mechanical Engineer – Graduation thesis in computational hydrodynamic on composite materials. He has worked for 1 year in Flexitab s.r.l. where he managed projects at every stage: from the concept to the prototypes production. He was involved in designing luxury yachts for famous shipyards such as Ferretti Group (Mochicraft and Apreamare). He is currently cooperating with Micad dealing with engine room arrangements, shaft line and piping design, 3-D modelling, interior and exterior design, project management.

Senior designer with more than 20 years experience in product development and co-designer with some of the most important shipyards and italian designers (Cranchi, Studio Andreani, Victory Design, Christian Grande, Sessa Marine, Sanlorenzo, Atlantis, Azimut, Persico, Mar-co, Monte Carlo Yachts).
In his capabilities is the development of 3D models from preliminary design up to CAD/CAM file passing through all phases of product and process verification. Besides nautical activities he is involved in injection parts and moulds design for large series of industrial products.

M.Sc. in Yacht Design at Univerità degli Studi di Genova/Politecnico di Milano, with a thesis work about sailing fast cruiser 40′ Catamaran in co-operation with Italian shipyard Lady Hawke Catamarans. B.Sc. in Industrial and Interior Design at Politcnico di Bari, with graduation thesis about the design of Aicon Yacht 82’ Open interiors. He worked for Sanlorenzo Yacht to design and modelling both steel and GRP external parts of SD 92 and SD 126 yacht lines.
He currently working with Micad dealing 3D modelling, concept design, feasibility studies, interior and exterior design, rendering and GRP part design.

Francesco Fiorentino
Francesco FiorentinoComposite specialist
Yacht designer, collaborated with many important italian boat builders including Posillipo, Italcraft and Rizzardi, where he was designer and responsible for quality control and product development. He gained knowledge in fast boats and surface drives transmissions working with Top System Surface Drive.
He participated in the 2006 and 2007 Powerboat P1 World Championship as a driver and designer of two boats for Italcraft in 2010 with Zeta Elle 43 offshore and in the 2011 UIM Class 3 offshore championship with the project MRS motorsport Cat X1. During the experiences in powerboat races has collaborated with FPT Fiat Group, Seatek and Isotta Fraschini Motors. He has experiences in the design of pleasure R.I.Bs for Stilmar and is currently collaborating with Top System Surface Drive (Technical department manager), Nautech magazine and Altomareblu.com (writer). He is collaborating with Micad for developing engine rooms and shaft line arrangements, GRP parts lamination schedules and working instructions.

M.Sc. in Yacht design at Università degli Studi di Genova/Politecnico di Milano. For his thesis work was involved in the refit of a fast ferry-boat turning it into an hospital ship. After university collaboration, he made experiences in the historic italian shipyard of Baglietto. Here he took part in team of architects and naval engineers of the technical Office, holding interiors layout and furniture design, 2D-3D CAD drawing along with stability calculating and testing. With Devamarine srl he developed projects of pleasure motor boats and one-off concept yachts, layout development of interior and exterior spaces, 3D modelling, material selection and following rendered images. Now he is working for Micad and among the main activities carried out, it is worth mentioning design of systems on board, interior and exterior layout, 3D-2D modelling and images rendering.

Naval architect with M.Sc. thesis work on the design of a sailing monotype of 38 feet. For bachelor graduation thesis he co-operated in design and building of a skiff that took part in “Mille e una Vela Cup”. He worked at Nautica Costruzioni Srl as project engineer for Rodriquez Cantieri Navali and Aicon Yachts orders.
He also worked for quality control at Aicon Yachts SpA for 56, 58, 64 e 75 models. He collaborated in the design and technical management for the enlargement project of a mariculture system. He worked as skipper and gained knowledge in sailing yachts, participating as mainsail or jib trimmer in many ORC, IRC and monotype regattas. Currently he is working for Micad dealing with naval architecture, structures, systems, refitting and project management.

B.Sc. in Naval Architect with thesis work on parametric optimization of hull shape through numerical simulations driven by variation algorithm., at the moment student of the Master course in Data Science held by SISSA. He gained a great experience in experimental fluid dynamics thanks to the internship in the towing tank at the laboratory of University of Naples “Federico II”, performing tests on planning hulls and propellers. He performed several resistance and sea-keeping simulations by the most important C.F.D. software (commercial and opensource) working for MICAD as adviser Montecarlo Yachts and Bénéteau Group.
He has expanded his activities as a numerical analyst, in the structural field, performing F.E.M. analysis on composite materials using commercial and opensource codes.
He has a collaboration with Nautech magazine, as a writer, for articles on hydrodynamic optimization of naval surfaces.
At the moment he leads, R&D and Innovation activities collaborating with several companies and international institutions.

Paolo Richiardi

Former Italian Navy submarine commanding officer, graduated in Maritime and Nautical Science with a master in European Union Development and Cohesion Policies and Structural Funds, he is an expert in European, national and regional R&D programmes and European territorial cooperation programmes.
His work experience range from large industries (Finmeccanica & Fincantieri) to SMEs, both in technical and services roles, from industrial consortium to naval technological district, dealing with research and innovation programmes and territorial cooperation. He has been involved in several R&D projects gaining extensive experience in project management. Furthermore he has broad experience in total quality and standardization issues both for products and processes.

Architect, graduated in Architettura at Politecnico di Bari. She has publications as Isufitaly2015 and Unicam magazines, talking about building types evolution and specialized buildings through the years. In the same subject she took part in international workshops, in Italian universities and in Belgium at Faculté d’Architecture de Liege.
During Salone del Mobile 2016, she won the Special Eataly Prize at 3° Design Award organized by Riva1920 with an innovative design of a stool rewarded by Oscar Farinetti.
Now she works In Micad, creating 2D drawings, 3D modeling and rendering. She deals with new yachts concepts and proposals.

M.Sc. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II and keen sailor. During his studies he worked as head of production for the installation of marine systems in a Fincantieri shipyard. For his graduation thesis he designed the first official sailboat of the Università di Napoli, focusing on the design of hull, appendages, structures and rig. That boat took part to the 2017 edition of 1001Vela university regatta. Now he is working for Micad dealing with naval architecture, structures and R&D projects. As a sailor, he took part to the most important European regattas of the IMS and ORC circuits.

Recent graduate in mechanical engineering with a strong passion for problem solving. He graduated at “Università degli studi di Trieste” with a thesis on fluid dynamic design of a high performance engine by the intensive use of simulation tools. For his graduation thesis he collaborated with Aprila Racing and Esteco modeFrontier where he learned his optimization skills applied to the design. Now he is working for Micad in r&d assisting designers with optimization and performing FEM analysis.

M. Sc in Aerospace Engineering at Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II with a thesis work about analyses, using Virtual Disk models on CFD solvers, of aerodynamic characteristics of a wing-propeller interaction, focusing attention on innovative configurations such as wing-tip propellers and distributed electric propulsion (DEP).
The job was based on TU Delft and NASA previous works.
He deepened propulsion field during Erasmus program at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

For the final thesis, she did an internship at Galileo Avionica, a Finmeccanica Company, at the Departments of Management Control and Cost Accounting. Then she worked in Galileo Avionica, where she managed projects: “Life Cycle Management & Project Control” and “Planning, Control, Budgeting & Reporting”.
Later she worked in Tecnimont in Project Control Department in the role of “Planning Engineer”.
In March 2010 she came back to Lecce and as a freelancer, she collaborated with the Court of Lecce as Appointed expert and she occupied a finance, administrative e marketing consultant role for many clients. She also was a Living Lab Manager in the project “Rinovatis” at University of Salento in Lecce.

During universitary studies he perfected his skills of free hand sketching and learned to use 3D modeling and graphics softwares.
He has participated in university design workshop with Renault and Nissan.
For his graduation thesis he collaborated with Jac Motors, developing the exterior design for a new entry level SUV.
Currently in Micad he deals with concept boat sketching, 3D-2D modeling.
