MICAD srl is pleased to announce that the public consultation phase for the PCR - Product Category Rules applicable to a wide range of products in the marine industry has been closed. It can be applied from small boats to mega-yachts and workboats such as small fishing boats or supply vessels, as well as components used onboard.

The standard defines in detail how to develop Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies for the publication of environmental labels. The most widely used environmental label in the world is the EPD - Environmental Product Declaration. Throughout the publication of an EPD, the correctness and credibility of the environmental footprint is ensured throughout certification by an independent accredited third party.

The committee that worked on writing the standard was composed of: Quotasette srl, MaPPIng LCA, Northern Light srl, MoIBNL (University of Tieste - Department of Engineering and Architecture), Water Revolution Foundation, NavalDesign&Consulting srl and MICAD.
