MICAD srl is pleased to announce that the public consultation phase for the PCR - Product Category Rules applicable to a wide range of products in the marine industry has been closed. It can be applied from small boats to mega-yachts and workboats such as small fishing boats or supply vessels, as well as components used onboard.
The SOPHYA Project has analysed and studied the correlations between planing powerboat performance and sea state through CFD simulations, full-scale models and testing, and subsequent hull optimisation with tank testing. The CFD simulations were validated with experimental data, and the final result led to the development of a toolkit for designing safer, more comfortable and energy efficient boats.

The Italian boating industry will meet again in 2021 at the Genoa Boat Show, after the great success of 2020 despite the limitations imposed by the pandemic. The show, which will be held from 16 to 21 September, is expected to be full of visitors and exhibitors.
The Cannes boat show is coming, after the 2020 stop. Among others, Azimut Yachts, Beneteau and Blue Game will be exhibiting at the Cannes Boat Show, which will take place in the French city from 7 to 12 September.
MICAD, together with regional and national nautical clusters, is promoting the development of an "Italian Nautical Digital Cluster", with the aim of pooling the competences in the field of Artificial Intelligence, High Performance Computing and Information Security present in Italian companies and research institutions.
