MICAD is a Design House active in all sea related industries
Sea life can not be left to chance. Our customers are glad to discover that our final products are of high quality and simple to use. Be essential, be creative.
Only continuous innovation can ensure our customers to be leaders in their markets. The ability to suggest and develop such innovations, for them and with them, make us the best technical partner. Innovate for the future.
No industrial or handicraft product can attract customers without its dose of elegance.
For this reason, we pursue clean lines for timeless products.
We keep increasing safety in processes and in products, for those who build them and for the final users, that face the daily dangers of sea and weather.
We support environment-friendly technology, aiming to use renewable sources in a products lifecycle, in order to respect others and future generations.
Constant analysis of our data in order to optimize overall design

The Cantiere 4.0 project, yearn for combine the vision of fourth industrial revolution (Industria 4.0) with the concept of digital Advanced Manufacturing Systems (AMS). It aims to introduce new high-speed communication systems for production into shipbuilding, traditionally attached to handicraft manufacturing. Cantiere 4.0 is about the development of the production system and related services, machinery, equipment, measuring systems, production control through ITC methods and technologies based on internet (cloud) for real time integration of all attendees in the supply chain. Sophya’s general purpose is to study the correlation between performances in rough sea and its action (sea conditions). Its aim is to improve the ship as “product” with relation to its navigation characteristics, with a clear impact on competitiveness on the market by Monte Carlo Yachts SpA and improvement of design methodologies by MICAD srl.
Several companies and istitutions are involved in: MICAD, Monte Carlo Yachts, Esteco, UniTS and SISSA.
The project aims to assess the technical and commercial feasibility of Modular Moulding System (MMS) technology in boatbuilding which makes economical convenient the use of polypropylene which is 100% recyclable. The goal is to win the trade-off between mass production and customization using the modular approach and to reduce the environmental impact of the materials employed in boatbuilding. Polypropylene composites need expensive metal moulds. Participants: MICAD (Coordinator) – CATMARINE Start: December 1st 2016 ; End: May 31st 2017 Cost of the feasibility study: 71.429,00€ Maximum EU contribution: 50.000,00€
